This selection from our "River of Life" album was written during our time at the Fatted Calf Restaurant. Many times after the restaurant had been cleaned up following a busy night of serving customers, a number of the staff would gather together for prayer. One such evening the Lord spoke to us and said He desired us to come into His presence as we were doing, and that we should take time to praise and worship Him for Who He is and for all that He was doing in our midst. It was a very clear and direct word to us all, and we left the restaurant that night so excited and blessed that God had spoken to us in such a wonderful way.
After I got home, however, a terrible realization hit me: we had not done the very thing God had asked us to do! We had gotten so excited just in the fact that God had spoken to us that we walked away without obeying what He had spoken. I was so troubled by that realization that I later went back over to the restaurant and spent some time in the wee hours of the morning simply praising and worshiping the Lord. Out of that time in the Lord's presence, this simple song was born--a song that came to reflect the heart of worship that God was birthing in us even way back then.
